PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Every day, hundreds of thousands of people travel up and down US 290 between IH 610 and FM 2920 in Waller. And the population in the US 290 corridor is expected to increase from a current total of 543,000 to 888,000 by 2035. Transportation in the area must be improved.
Our ultimate program plans include the reconstruction and widening of US 290, the construction of the parallel Hempstead Tollway, the building of a bike trail, and the preserving of Right of Way for a High Capacity Transit System.
